Hunched up baby...

Posted by Linda on March 25, 2001 at 11:56:18:

Well I am learning fast as my first kidding is more than half done. Just two does left to go... So far it going pretty well.. Earlier I posted about my Nigerian babies not getting enough milk from mama... I since started them on bottle feeding supplementing while still on mama.. this is working well... I noticed a few days ago that one of these triplets was hunching up a lot... she runs and plays. Breathing is clear, eyes clear, seems fine other than hunching up all the time.. No diareaha or anything in any of them.... Now today I noticed another of them doing it a little too... They are about 21 days old now. At two weeks they had their CD&T.. no ill effects - no lumps. They also each had a good squirt of Nutri drench (vitamins) the day of birth...

I was told by a breeder to use Albon as she thought it may be a touch of coccidious..... 2 ccs in bottle a day for a few days... Anyone else had experience with this? Just curious... I did get some and tried it this morning... but did not get enough of the milk down her to do much good... Albon is real thick... but I would think it may be easier to just syringe it down them.. At 50 cents a CC its to expensive to waste hoping they will drink it all.

Any opinions - suggestions - thoughts???????
Thanks in advance
Linda
