I've had pygmys with extra teats and a friend of mine has Boers with them. Nobody seems to mind except when it comes to the dairy breeds. Some say it's really not a problem as long as the kids don't nurse the non-functional one. Others say the extras can be cut off at birth while still other people say to wait until the doe freshens so you can be sure you're cutting off the non-functional teat. I have a young Nubian doe who will freshen for the first time this spring. She has had an extra teat removed and I am curious to see how she does. I've read that this trait is carried by the buck so I don't think I would raise any bucks for breeding from her because of that. As far as showing goes, this doe has been shown and took Reserve Grand Champion in her class. I guess it's all a matter of preference and/or what you plan to use the doe for, but I don't see why you can't go ahead and breed her.
