cashmeres and milking...

Posted by Kali on April 28, 2001 at 08:24:01:

Hi, it looks like we're moving back to Vermont from Maine and I'm selling my alpines. (so how do you sob on line?) I've had alot of trouble with my hands and fingers with the milking-it takes me twice as long as anyone else to milk and then my hands are numb and tingling all the time-I can barely hold a pen or the phone or the steering wheel! Anyone else have trouble with this and have you figured out a way to treat it? It's been months now and I do very little of the milking because my hands ache so. I don't want to give up on goats! Now I'm wondering about raising cashmeres--anyone with feedback about them, please write me! Does anyone ever milk a cashmere? (See, I'm not totally willing to give up yet!) Anyone from Vt. out there with goats? I'd especially like to hear from you! I also am still interested in having alpines if not to milk (it seems like such a waste not to!!) then to pull or pack...feedback, please! Thanks alot for all suggestions---
