We had a nursing doe this am that appeared to be blind, listless. I assumed polioencephalomacia. I drenched her with Goat Aid and then gave her 6 ccs of B complex vitamin IM. I called the vet and asked him if she needed a big dose IV (as Mary Smith's book suggests)and he said no, they didn't usually give it IV and they didn't have any "goat thiamine" on hand.
The Vitamin B mix had 100mg/cc of Thiamine in it. Is this going to be enough?
I am upset with my vet. He said he would see her if I wanted him to, but if he doesn't have any Thiamine, what is the point?
