I had a buck that was fighting with another buck (rutting season) about a year ago who lost his horn all the way down to his head. By the time we caught him, we cleaned his wound real good, put some antibiotic sauve on it. And we sprayed it with this fly control spray (I don't know the name of it.) After about a week, the buck was himself again and up to his same tricks. He looks kinda funny though with one horn. Hope this helps.
