Since all they said was it has yellow flowers I don't want everyone to pull up their yellow flowers . The botanical name is Senicio aureus grows in moist areas, mostly south of the Missouri river but can be found north, there is also a Prarie ragwort Sencio plattensis (lives in drier sunny locations), both are 2', yellow flowers like a daisy, the center on all are yellow and fairly flat not raised like sunflowers or coneflower. The only problem now is leaf description, there are several different Sencio each having a different leaf. Maybe Gary has a picture if not just do a search for Ragwort or use the Botanical names. It is sometimes called Groundsel or Squaw weed
