Last nite things looked grim for Max. But this morning when Cheryl called the vet the impaction has softened but not cleared out. It is looking more like it is sand colic than a tumor but it's still to early to tell for sure. I think she has changed her mind about the sugery the 70% survival rate is for a healthy younger horse and Max is neither. Even if he were in good shape at 18 survival is not in his favor. She is also getting over the shock and looking at if she could take care of him afterwords it would be very hard. Not to say he is not worth it but 3 months in a stall being hand walked daily would not be easy. The fact that it is almost September and winter could come anytime here is also a factor for her. We are hoping it will not come to that. Billy is doing fine I think he knows something is very wronge with his horse, since he is not panicing maybe he knows something we don't. I will let you all know on Monday what happened over the weekend. We leave for two rodeos this afternoon and will be back on Sunday nite...to late to post or call for updates. Also if you could all say a prayer to keep Andy safe while he is ridding it would mean the world to me. He got dumped in July and had to take a month off due to a broken finger. It could have been so much worse now I just panic. Boys will be Boys I suppose but he is my husband and I worry . Thanks for the prayers I have told Cheryl she was so upset yesterday she said do goat people really care about horses. I told her you all were really cool and would do your best once again you have proved me right. THANKS have a safe and fun holiday weekend.
