No Reptar does not have horns, we had to cough up a large downpayment to have him disbudded before he was shipped. I guess most people want the horns left on esp. the pur-breds. I for one cannot see having a 200# goat with horns as I do 98% of the goat work, and have children that seem to think they need to ride the goats. Maybe that is why he doesn't smell so bad, seems somebody told me they have sent glands by the horns.? This will be the first year that we use him for breeding as a yearling he had next to no intrest until late in the year this year he is very keen on the idea. How tall is your buck at the shoulder. I have seen some much taller and heavier than mine. We battled cocci with him so I am thinking he is stunted as we didn't know about cocci until last year. This year I thought we would loose him he looked terrible. I was told to treat him for cocci because if they are overloaded as kids stress can cause reacurrences as adults. The 100 degree + weather we had this summer really caused him some problems. Looking at him now it is clear he feels much better. One thing we have learned at least with the Boer bucks is they need to be disbudded very early. Reptars son Teddy was done at 5 days and the buds were already to large for the disbudder. He developed scurs and had to be redone. Next year I will try 3 days on the bucklings and 5 on the does.
