After 30+years in horses I have found that there is always a new training methode that surfaces that is better then any other way of training. We use no special treats only kind words often and once in awhile a pat on the shoulder. Doing this my horse will stand even in when he should be freaking out so I can mount. I can reach down from his back and pull a chair up (even the non folding type) and run it all over him. He can have a tarp or blanket tossed on him. All of our horses can be left sitting for a year or more and be pulled out geared up and ridden without any sort of work out. The same applies to loading and bathing. But again if this new training thing works for you use it. What works for me is the old fashioned way and I am not going to change it. We have no reason or want to change how things are done here.
