Glad I finally got everyone fed and am the warm house now. G usually
takes the hay rolls on the tractor to the pasture for the horses but
he forgot yesterday and ran out of time today before work so I
decided I would try it. hahahaha. I used to drive the tractor all the
time just for the fun of it in the woods. yes I'm a redneck. hehehe.
Anyways, sinceI got my little John deere gator I have't been on the
tractor in a couple of years. And it has no brakes. theres a trick to
driving it. hell even to starting it. hahaha. Anyways....I have never
had to take hay anywhere on it before and since it has been so long
since I have driven it I forgot all the trick to it so had to figure
it all out again. After I finally got the hay on the d@%n spike
thingy I headed down to the gate which is downhill. Now rememer I
have no brakes, and going down hill to a gate. WEll that gate was
getting close and closer awful fast but I did manage to get stopped
in time. YEEHAW!!! BUT soon as I got the gate open and back on the
tractor to go in 3 of the horses haul a#* out the gate. I knew all
they wanted is to get to the grass in the yard so I left them because
now it is getting dark. I'm in the pasture now and TRYING to get the
hay OFF the spike. It won't come off. I've got it on the ground and
trying to drive off but it goes with me. HEre I Am doing donuts
trying to get the D$*n thing off. I feel like a dog dragging his butt
on the ground. hehehehe. Anyway...finally get it off and have to try
to cut all the strings off of it in the dark becasue by now it is
totally dark. no lights on the tractor. Horses are still out. I try
to chase them back in the pasture with the tractor but gave up on
that becasue I have no lights and don't want to run over a stump and
tear up the tractor. Its such a good tractor. NOT!!! haha. Anyway..I
go on and park it and get on my precious gator and head to the feed
building and measure up all the feed thinking if they hear that they
will come to me. NOT!! Still grazing. So I go ahead and go in the pen
where I still have one sweet horsie that stayed where he was suppose
to. Put the feed in the through and here come TWO of them hauling a.
of course MY horse never even looked up. He figured he was finally
alone and ahd all that grass to hisself. He wasn't going back in.
So...I run up behind him on the gator screaming like an indian and he
got the him and finally ran right in and I closed the gate. YEAH!!!
I'm sure the neighbors got a kick out of that. haha. But BEFORE All
that went down I was in the goat pen cleaning and raking that all up.
Got one of them done where moma and baby are. no problem. Next pen I
have the 2 200# wethers, a nanny and a 4 month old billy. Couldn't
rake their pen between the fighting going on between the 2 wethers
and nanny and the other little billy who wraps hisself around my
legs like a cat and is screamming for me to love on him. he's such a
baby. he needs to live in the house with me. hehehe. anyway...I gave
up on that till tomorrow so I Can let them all out in the pasture
tomorrow and have the pen to myself. Or at least just me and the
little billy. but after giving up on that I was climbing back over
the fence between the pens and was almost straddle the board when I
was RUDELY and HARD hit in the butt by the biggest wether that was
trying to fight with the other wether again. Anyway..that was my
exciting evening. And I didn't wanna go out because it was soooo
cold. HA!!! All that activity, I was burning up. anyways....the whole
time I was cussing and saying to myself ( ok out loud) that I was
getting rid of EVERYONE one of them. but after it was all over I had
to laugh. Theres no way I would ever get rid of any of them. They are
a pain sometimes but I love them all.
