I would be scared if I saw Bubba raiding the refrigerator. But do you think that these animals learned to eat eggs out of a need for protein and not just because they needed food? I think that animals only start eating things not in their basic diet not because they need to eat, But because they have something lacking in their diet. Other wise they would adapt in other ways physically such as growing longer legs and necks to reach palm or fig tree leaves. I think that the plants on Galapagas do not have enough protein and maybe an amount of vitamins and minerals required to stay healthy enough to reproduce. I can only guess Thanks for the article!
