We are watching some goats for some folks and one of them is suddenly pretty sick. He had a cough for a few days that sounded like a cat with a furball. He has had no dicharge from his eyes or nose and has been eating fine until I found him outside the barn curled around a tree. He couldn't get up and acted like his hind legs wouldn't work. We put him in the barn in a stall alone and bedded him down since the weather is abnormally cold. We have had some ice and a little snow that is unusual as are the 10 degree nights with wind. The owners told me to give him 2cc of penicillin, which I did. He tried to eat some grain and a little hay. I had to hold his head up to drink today but he did drink quite a bit and had just a little grain. He had been trying to get up some and couldn't coordinate his movements. His head just flops around when he moves but he stays curled in a ball most of the time. Is there any hope for him?
