This is "something" my dad would have tanned my fanny red for - depriving an animal or pet of water. I have followed the series of posts regarding this with great interest. I can see what is trying to be accomplished however I don't think it's the correct way to go about it. Water is the spice of life for nearly all life. Even practicing, deeply religious people who "fast" - that is, go without food for extended periods of time drink water. This may be where this idea came about. "Fast your goats before a show to rid them of their chemical impurities."

There is an article here on GoatWorld called "Water" that should give a bit of insight about how a goat utilizes water. It seems they utilize it more like a camel. If this is indeed true, it's really not going to matter if you take your goats off water for a week or two prior to a show because they will have plenty in reserve. That alone is something to think about.
