We freeze ours in 22 ounce plastic soda bottles. A kid needs 2 ounce per pound of body weight minimum. So if a kid weighs 8 pounds it needs 16 ounces of colostrum. Now! This is actually information for antelope at the Houston Zoo, but it can't be that much different for our goats! I actually feed each kid 22 ounces period and then move on to milk. We get premium prices for our first 12 hour colostrum so we feed it carefully. Did you know that the Zoo will not accept colostrum from first fresheners? Even though we freshen most of our does at 2 their colostrum contained hardly any usable immunity, we do save it for horses and dogs, but don't use it any longer on our own stock. Vicki
