She didn't get it from being full fed, she got it from an increase in grain, usually protein. This can happen if your grain mill mixes animal protein in one ton and then plant protein in the next batch. If you are feeding pellets, or your feed tags say, roughage grain by products, plant protein or animal fat or protein on it, than you are really taking a chance, with excesses when you feed this. Make sure an keep your feed management level, especially in the protein department, and actually the only stock that needs higher protein is growing stock. You will have to keep her feet trimmed very aggressively in the front, and perhaps using a supplement like Buteless, to ease the pain. It is sold in the Jeffers Livestock Catalog, and they are now online!! Any of the other pain killers like Banamine and Bute couldn't be used for long periods of time, and even aspirin will cause rumen upset if given over long periods of time. Good luck with the doe, Saanen's are such beautiful animals! Vicki
