I must say the topics around here are very interesting.
Since I am (as you all know) a new goatie owner I can't offer much in advice but I sure am learning alot.(Lurking alot)
To give you an update on Gabby:
She was full of the beans today! Kicking up her heals and running like her tail was afire! Willow was in her glory,, she finally got her sister to play with her!
I noticed Gabby trying to mount Willow all day and figured she went into heat. I know Willow is in heat right now and thought maybe Gabby was too the way she was acting.
I went over to play with them and noticed Gabby was having some discharge, (which she hasn't had since the day after the C-Section). It was bloody but was kind of milky looking. I got concerned when she stood up on Willows back, because it would pour out of her.
I called the vet and he said bring her right over.
She has an infection so he did a uterine lavage and then put in some antibiotic.. then gave her an injection of Lutalyse. Then to add insult to injury, he said she had lice! so treated her for that.
It was so cute at the vets office.. he put her down behind the counter where the office people work, she roamed around and greeted patients for him.. The people coming in freaked when they saw a goat roaming around the office! LOL.She went around begging cookies off of everyone. Had them all charmed. She loves to ride in the car and looks out the windows at all the cars.. I got quite a few horn honks on the way to the vet and back! LOL

PS>Congrats to all the new Mommies and their babies..
EXTRA COOKIES FOR ALL!
