Hello all, I'm glad I found this site and this forum. I see lots of good info and advice here. Here's my question, I'm hoping you can help us out.
My white dwarf goat has extremely dry skin, with dandruff that flakes off whenever I pet and scratch her. She had an extremely thick coat for the winter and is shedding, so I brush her with the curry comb almost daily to help her along. I can't see any lice, but she's acts very itchy and frustrated, stomping and plopping down to bite at her skin.
Is there an additive I can feed to get moisture in her coat? Or is this lice? An allergy? What can I use to give her some relief?
She gets a 1/2 Cup of goat sweetfeed and timothy hay, twice/daily, plus some grazing. She shares a clean pen and shelter with my Nubian doe. They're both healthy, active, and my sweet little pets.
Thanks for any suggestions!
