Once your kids are weaned and growing well you can move to unmedicated feeds. Cocci meds are not needed in yearling and adult goats. They have natural immunity to cocci, the only time you may see an outbreak is from severe stress or illness. My kids are on medicated (Lasalocid) feed as soon as they will eat it, they remain on it until about 8 months old. I am not a fan of feeding anything pelleted since they can slurry anything they want to into these pellets and you can't see it. Do you know that some mills even spray green food coloring on their pellets and alfalfa pellets so you "think" they are more healthy? If your animals are pets, and you aren't showing, once your kids are grown they could easily live off of good hay and browse. Grain for the milkers with a good mineral mix in it from day 100 of pregnancy till after they wean their kids, and of course grain if you are milking them. Certainly don't be listening to use Dairy Goat folks who show, when you are raising pets! Loose minerals and baking soda are great also! Vicki
