We also had a buckling born with only one testical decended. He was sent to market un-band as we did not want to take a chance on bred does. Our vet said that usually the undecended testical is infertile due to over heating in the body cavity however that is not always the case and better safe then sorry.
Both testicals are normally decended at birth so if they are still not decended by 6 weeks I would say it most likely will not come down at all.
By the way I also band at 4-6 weeks as well.
