Can anyone tell me how we can get our goats to gain more weight? we have 3 wethers for our fair which is August6-11 and their weight is--- 1- 65 pounds, 1- 60 pounds, and 1- 25-30 pounds that is if our scales were correct. they need to weigh between 60 and 100 and would rather be on the 80-90 but not sure if we can get them there! any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. another question for next year should we keep them billies longer, will it help to put weight on fast in the beginning or does it matter when they are wethered? our goat that weighed 65 pounds is filled out great very solid from front to back as far as meat. we feed them twice a day and most of the time they have grain left over at the next feeding not alot but some. we give them good hay and they have a nice area to run in and do run and play sometimes. I know we only have about 5 1/2 weeks left to gain any weight but thought some of you might have some suggestions. our wethers are at least 75% boar, father was fullblood and mothers high % does. I feed 16% bob white goat feed and add loose minerals to each feeding. thanks Denise
