What breed is she? What is her bloodlines? This recessive gene comes from somewhere, and if her dam or sire doesn't carry this, as in they have a teat cut off etc. than they both carry it, very simplistically they carry this hidden, bred together some of their kids will carry it. So you would be safe, persay, not repeating the breeding that made this doe.....or breeding her to a totally unrealted buck. I know the LaMancha bloodline I was talking about you simply can't use them as a linebreeding program. I was reminded in a private email that there is indeed a very well known Nubian buck (deceased) who carried the fault of extra teats, and it was rumored that he had one. I don't breed that particular bloodline. Though I would kill for his bloodlines breed character and especially ears! Vicki
