If you guys remember, I had a doe a few weeks ago that lacerated her udder in a hay manger. I ended up shipping her because it was pretty cut up.

Well... I guess I didn't fix the damn feeder good enough because my hungary Togg doe jumped into it tonight and also lacerated her udder. This time, its a small cut on the udder floor, like a good papercut. It cut through just the first cutaneous (sp?) layer - kinda like the skin of a peach if you understand what i'm saying. I gave her 5cc Pen G tonight (don't rememebr the exact dosage, but it seemed about right) and I cleaned it up.

This doe is supose to go to the National show in ONE MONTH! I am really kicking myself in the rear this time. Can anyone recomend the best way to get her all back together again? It seems like it should heal up ok, nothing hanging, no skin flaps. I need to go to the store tommorow and pick up some wound spray or ointment so if anyone can recommend a good brand for fast healing. I think someone (Vicki?) said something about Furox spray????? My mind is a mess tonight after getting all worried about this doe.

Sigh..

Thank you all once again,

-Nat's Little Bit Farm
