Thank you for the response Vicki. Actually, thank you all for your help and responses. I woke up this morning to hear the doe screaming in obvious pain and lying on her side. I have isolated her to another barn as she has already rejected her three kids. They seem to be doing fine.
To answer your questions, I did not worm her after she gave birth. I am unsure of living in a selenium deficient area.
I think Nat may have been on to something though. We have had a tremendous amount of rain and I have noticed more slugs. The field they are in is especially high with grasses.
I discount the idea of the "deer theory" simply because they do not visit anywhere near where my goats are kept and they have no way of contaminating the hay. It is all stored in the barns.
I don't believe that she is going to make it another hour as her breathing is extremely shallow. She has also lost a lot of weight and is very gaunt in the hind quarter area. More to follow.
