Yes use the Albon as directed, no matter how small or how large the goat, they love the taste of it anyway. Once you have more animals it is much cheaper to pick another form (generic) of Albon or another sulfa.

I think yearling age does are a much better choice for introducing pups. I certainly wouldn't put them in with my old biddies, it wouldn't be safe for the pup, but certainly wouldn't trust a pup with my babies. We have always had the best of both worlds with the pup having an older dog to teach them, so in buying pups always buy older pups who are living with the goats and their mom. I have had dogs who would lick kids way to much, with winter kids and always being wet, I couldn't let one of my older dogs in with the babies, except when I was there. It was great for when I need them cleaned after lambars, but enough was enough! My dog now, I have to lock up seperatly when I have men customers when my husband isn't home, espeically if they are going to "take" one of their babies!!! It's a real catch 22 to have my dog locked up with a stranger here, which I want her to be aggressive with, but I also don't want to loose a sale. Now a child or a woman could rob me blind! Vicki
