This is what alot of us were hoping the boer goat industry would do for us. But the money just isn't there for the big drug companies to put money into testing for goats. Even some of the vaccines that we have, all the CD&T ones, have goat on them, but because the cattle industry is so powerful, they have made the companies take all inference of giving the vaccines IM off the labels, they don't want cattle given IM shots which will hurt cuts of meat. Even though lots of the drugs were tested for both IM and subq injections. So we are stuck as second class citizens.

Goat feed is really my favorite story. Before Boer there was Acco Doe Lac and Purina Goat Chow in our area of Texas. As soon as the Boer hit the states there were 10 or so more goat pellets. Really think that a nutritionist was sitting at whatever feed store mixing what goats needed most??? Emus?? That is why your best information comes from goat daries, goat owners who are doing it.
