I have the two wethers, and Houdini is definitely a pet now, so he can probably be a buddy to the doe. The other wether is going to get a crash course in packing.

And since I generally go on vacation in the summer, having a period when I didn't have to milk would be an advantage. The neighbors can be drafted into feeding (they think feeding my personal petting zoo is fun! *laughing*), but I think milking a goat might be too much to ask.

If I'm going on a packing trip, would a nanny be able to keep up safely with a pack string? (Without a pack, of course.) Trying to figure out the logistics of the issue of having to MILK said nanny. Having fresh milk fifty miles from the nearest trailhead would be awesome, if it would be safe for the nanny to come along. I would presume, however, she'd need lots of water ...
