Well Alfalfa isn't good for wethers or bucks because the high protein can cause urinari calculi. As for what to feed for my boys I use a mixture of horse feed , oats & cracked corn. For my girls I use horse feed , oats , cracked corn , sunflower seeds & Alfalfa pellets. Almost everyone I talk to around here feeds theres different stuff. One guy feeds his a ground up mix which I heard wasn't good , another uses straight corn , another uses Golden Blend so it's really hard to say. It seems everyone uses something differnt.
As for the crying goat I have one that does that. I have some of my younger ones out in my driveway & theres one who is extremly spoiled! She will sit at the front door & cry half the time. Another thing maybe its where he was just weaned. I had one that I bought right after she was weaned & she did that a few weeks.
