Obviously you did it the right way! As I said I know a lot of people who do their own banding with excellent results. I also think that maybe a lot has to do with the age they are when you band them, and of course if you are doing it correctly. A lot of people do not know what they are doing. Personally for us, we do not feel comfortable doing it. When we got our bander and was going to attempt it, a friend of my husbands did his all the time, he told him exactly how to do it, I think Mike even watched and it seemed so simple..but when it came right down to it, not only was the billy a little to large to band, we just did not feel comfortable. I would much rather pay the $5.00 and know it is being done properly.

Oh yes you do hear them scream...no doubt about that. but by the time we get them home they are fine..just a little I don't know want to say ooohh noo what just happened to me kinda thing going on, but if you band incorrectly you can run into a heck of a lot of problems.
