I just thought of something else - you mentioned the does acting hungry and kicking up the grain. You know, if a person gets hungry, they can fill themselves up with something like water, bread or popcorn and that will curb the hunger pangs. But the nutritional value will not sustain them to where it is "good nutrition" that they are receiving. They may be acting hungry because they are craving something specific. If they are always at their mineral block (loose minerals are better) then there is a good chance that it is a deficiency. Something else I would try is getting a few yellow sulphur/salt blocks. They could be craving a bit more of this as well. If they do not always go after the minerals, well, then it has got to be something else (or else the minerals you are providing do not contain enough of what they are seeking). Goats are funny like that - they seem to know what they need. Also, be sure to always provide free choice baking soda. This aids in digestion and also balances the pH in the rumen - a simple, low cost fix that goes a long way in keeping a goats digestive system healthy.

Best regards,
