Hi Helene.
From what I've understood, the goat can't chew enough of the mineral off the block to make enough of a difference. Also, it's not good on their teeth. I went to the feed store, and bought a loose mineral used for horses...I think I read that was what to use when I bought it. It lasts a long time. I also made the mineral feeder-the design is here in the GoatWorld Articles section. It works great. When I first put tht minerals out, the goats gobbled them...now they take a lick here and there.
