Hi,

There are quite a number of factors that could possibly cause this. I guess my first question is, are all your kids showing this same growth pattern? A small percentage of them, a large percentage of them? Only some of them? Are you noticing it more in the straight Boers? The crosses or both together? How about the buck(s) used for breeding? Same buck(s) over several years or a different buck (and does) producing the same result?

The first things that come to mind are genetics and nutrition. I imagine you are probably feeding all the top feedstuff but you may want to doublecheck that you are giving the essentials. Good mineral mixes, etc.

Are you doing your own fecals and worming regularly (and with what kind of wormer)? Perhaps by the time they are getting to the "put on weight" stage, there is a parasite that your wormer misses that keeps the weight off them. Other than that, it may be just a case of genetics.

Best regards,
