We get dehydrated calves all srping when scours hits the calf crop. (beefers) Lately we've been using a product called "Deliver" is an electrolyte that has fiber in it too, so it hydrates, and helps them get their digestive tract a little more "soild" if you know what I mean. We've also used Biolyte, and when you dont have anything you can use anything kind of electrolyte - wether it be peodiolyte (alot for a calv vs a goat, or even last resort gatorade).
We usually have to stomach tube the sick, weak dehydrated calves using one of those big bag feeders - any cow people out there know what I'm talking about - a special tube witha ball on the end that prevents you from putting it downthe wrong tube, then the tub has its own sealable bag that holds like 2-3 qts fluid.
Deliver gets REALLY thick when it starts too cool, but works great. Let us know how they do!
