Dalice, we had a similar experience last year. We had 3 does that kidded, and we wanted to get rid of the mamma's. They were the group of our first goats, they were not tame, they would escape, and we would have to chase them through the neigboorhood. We wanted the kids though, so we decided to hang on to them until after they kidded. 1 had a single buck, the other, a single doe and the other twin does. We had decided to let them feed off of their mamma's for a few days then we were going to pull them, and bottle feed, then if all went well, the mamma's were going. The 3 does took to the bottle ok, on the first day, took a little bit of force feeding but they got the hang of it. The buck no way no how wanted anything to do with the bottle, he would scream try and get away..and we were afraid the does milk would dry up, (wasn't sure how long it would take) so we put him back on his mamma. We might have gotten him to take the bottle, but I was afraid to take any chances. How long does it take for the milk to dry up? Just curious, so I know for next time.
