Hi Nat,

Well I am glad that you still have that little finger. I could see my thumb getting hooked between the Billys horns too. I think I have realized why this Billy was sold in the first place - because of those darn horns. He's a pretty sweet and gentle Billy otherwise with very nice confirmation.

I thought about wrapping something around his horns to prevent this from happening but like you mentioned, the flat scurs make it difficult to get underneath the back of the horns. They really need to come off of there. They actually curl way back around and have rubbed areas on his shoulders bald. I may opt for Lee's idea with the dremel tool. I have triedthe banding method on one of our goats and her horns are still intact as well as the bands - they've been on there close to three months now - may have to dremel on her too if I can get her to hold still.

I have gradually managed to get the number of goats with horns down to three; small Billy Boer, Large Billy Boer and the Nubian/Alpine doe I mentioned above. After this whole ordeal - I am getting down to a completely hornless herd for certain.

Thanks for your good thoughts too - I'm feeling better today but it has been a slow recovery. Duck soup isn't sounding half bad right now, heh heh.

On your question about hatching eggs for sale - I suppose it depends upon how many and what kind you want. I'll have duck eggs available for sale very soon after the bulk of "duck" season is over and demand for hatched ducks declines - Pekins, Crested Swedes, Harlequins, Mallards, Rouens, Khaki Campbells, a few Muscovys, some Runner varieties and a few other assorted, exotic breeds such as Call Ducks - Black East Indies...

On chickens, I've always got hatching eggs for sale but my onhand breeds are somewhat limited to Buff Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rock, Wyandottes, Sex Links, Aracaunas, Australops, California Whites, Cross Broilers, Leghorns. A wide variety of mixes such as Red Comets, White Comets, Golden Comets, etc. (Basically crosses between some of the other breeds). If you are looking for a real nice Bantam bird with alot of color developed by yours truly, I have a very good selection. I have a number of people that have come from many miles just to get a few of the day old Bantam chicks from this strain. Any other breeds, let me know what you are looking for and I will see if I can get it.

Hope all is well with you and yours. Best regards,

Gary
