It's been a while since I've posted a message. We've been going crazy trying to get the new barn finished. I have a quick question about lime. Our new barn is in an area where we used to pasture our donkey. He spent quite a bit of time there and did a lot of "business" in that area as well. Before my first kids arrive next week, I want to make sure that the barn is clean and ready for them. Is it okay to sprinkle a bit of Ag lime on the floor of the kidding stall before putting down my bedding? I have heard different opinions from different people. One says Ag lime is fine but not hydrated lime. Another told me not to use lime at all in a kidding pen. I hate to sound like such a rank novice, but who is right?
