Thanks to all who responded to my question of about a week ago concerning a first time kidding. Last saturday she was still laying around not eating or drinking, I decided to contact goat911. The gal Judy was helpful by responding back with an e-mail in a little over an hour.We had already tried to give her proplene gylcol and nutra drench on friday, Judy gave me a list of things to get from a vet-penicillin, dextros, thiamine and banamine. She also sugested we keep her on probotics and to worm her again. She said to take her off proplene glycol and give her magic instead and to inject LA200 into her cervix.--------Well what is a person to do? Our vet agreed with all except LA 200 and the additional worming since we had just wormed her on thursday. He said to continue with the magic also. Well at this point she is up and down but still not eating anything and not drinking that we can tell, if she is drinking it is very little. At this point she is still getting the penicillin, dextros , magic, propolene glycol and probotic,, still not eating or drinking.. How long can she live like this? How is this affecting the babies? The little ones seem friskie but are only up to 6 or 7 lbs. at the present time. The thiamine and banamine was only a 2 day supply. I have a book of questions since all of this has happened but just can't get it all together to ask them yet, will try to remember them all when this is over. This poor doe gets so stressed out when we give her the drenches, she is putting hubby and I on a guilt trip for cruelty.. :( Is there an easy way to drench? The magic and proplene glycol upsets her terribly....How long should I treat her with the penicillin shots? Hopefully my next update will be short and sweet. Have 3 other does due as of this week so I am going to be busy. Thanks to all. Gloria
