Helen, I know just what you mean, I have a toggenburg milker and a saanen that are really big milkers and they get so thin they look annexoric (spelling). Last year my daughter called the saanen annexoric Annie. This year I tryed to get them in good condition before I bred them and made sure I increased there grain before they kidded it seems to have helped, although I noticed today the togg is looking a little thin.
Maybe after you wean the baby you could only milk her once a day instead of twice and see if that helps. I am glad to hear she is getting along fine after her c-section.
