Just my opinion..I think I would keep enough grain in a bucket somewhere where he could get it whenever he wanted it as long as the older ones can't get at it. Sounds like she is trying to wean him for some reason. They get so rough, I would wean them as soon as I could too. Man, can you imagine being bunted like that?! That woule hurt! And those sharp little teeth would really hurt! They hurt when they suck on your finger! Anyway, our young ones can get through the fence and come out in the yard so I keep feed in some pans most of the time for them now. They come out and play and eat grain. The mothers can't get through the fence. Well except one! She lays on her side and squeezes through and has done this since she was a kid after she got to big just to slide through the bars on the gates.
