I have heard good and bad about all the guardians the only one we have ever had has been a Great Pyr. I gave him away when he was almost two. He decided lamb and mutton(on the hoof) were a good food type even though he got dog food twice a day. I have a friend that used donkeys for hers and the one wouldn't let the goats out of the barn. The other friend had a donkey that just like to beat the goats and sheep bloody. So I guess I am not much help just do you homework and research it well before you make the final decision. Make sure the dogs are from guard stock not just allowed to roam here and there. Check with vets and previous clients when possible on how reputable the people are who are selling the animal and how good the stock is. Good Luck.
