We had a similar thing happen when Eris had to have her C-Section. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact she was in pain and was not feeling too good after the operation.

For the first day or so, when Patrick screamed or was hungry, she kinda looked over at the house (because I was watching every minute through my window if I was not outside) to see if one of us would come out. She just walked away and wanted nothing to do w/him, she would not even nurse him, because he would pound on her, and she was hurting.

So I would go outside w/my bottle and milk the colostrum from her, and she would come on over to me when I walked through the gates, knowing what I was going to do.

Then a few days later, when she was feeling better, I was not sure if she was allowing him to feed, so I went out w/my bottle, and tried to milk her and she was not co-operating. I got some milk out of her, and went over to Patrick to feed him and he would not take the bottle..I figured that ment that she was allowing him to nurse, and I was right, becuase he went over to her, and I got the look like..hey this is my kid and I can take care of him myself (smile)..
