If the plant you are talking about grows tall it is poke weed or poke berry. Nightshade looks alot like a small tomato plant (to which it is related, as are potatos and peppers) They taste very bad, most goats unless they are starving will not touch them. Most toxic plants taste VERY BAD. Well fed goats are not liable to eat them. Some exceptions of course are azalea and rhododendron and Mountain Laurel, Cherry trees (only wilted leaves are dangerous, not green or dried)
