Hot and Dry

Farm Animal Tees! Jolly German Jams and Jellies

Hi all been on vacation to see my folks in good old Mo. Was cooler there and they had more rain in one day than we had the whole 8 days we were gone( we had none). Went to the Mo State Fair better than ever this year but because of the timing we didn't make it to the goat show. We came home to a pasture dry as saw dust, the horse had't suffered any but we have been feeding hay for about 4 weeks, this sandy ground dosen't hold any water. The new goat pen is good still. but we are seeing a need to finish 2 more small ones when we add some does. I am running water on part of my pasture as we speak, our well is very deep and I don't want the grass to go completely dormant.
I thought I had bought plenty of hay but i am goin g to pick up another 35 bales next week just afraid what this drought will do to the pasture and I can't water forever. I will dry lot the horse and the goat if I have to.I will be glad when it cools down, we are expecting some rain tomorrow, sure would be nice. Hang in there everyone.
