It is very likely he is just a well developed boy. He would almost certainly be showing many more bucky signs (like peeing on himself) if he had a "leftover".

I checked for a lump and found nothing. When I bought him (last year) I checked the banding and it appeared to contain both testicles. I will continue to see how he develops. If he would happen to have a hidden testicle will he urinate on himself and so on like other bucks? There are no does here, just wethers. He doesn't display any of those signs, just what I explained and he also seems to have a more mature penis/sheath than the other wethers. I don't suppose surgery to remove a hidden testicle is much of an option, just because I would imagine it would not be very safe for him? Well, I am going to hope that he is just a wether. Thanks again.

If a testicle slipped bak up before the band was applied he could still be essnetially a buck. Feel around the area of his (former) scrotum and see if you feel a lump. If he only had one descended testicle that was babnded then he certianly is still a buck.

If you are absolutely sure both testicles were below the band then he is just a sturdy little wether. You can have a blood test for testtosterone levels to see if he has a hidden testicle. Be aware that if his banding missed he could be fertile.

I band at 12 weeks and my little guys turn into wethers , and look like wethers in about 4 weeks from banding.

Bottle jaw is correctly called pitting edema, but even vets call it bottle jaw. Piting edema can occur anywhere in the body where fluid collects under the skin. If he is gaining weight and not anemic he can't have bottle jaw.

Is it possible that my wether is not completely a wether, but still a little bit billy? My 1 year old wether is having a growth/maturing spirt and he is developing very thickly muscled shoulders (in comparison to the other 2 wethers I have) and his throat area is getting saggy, what I mean is his skin is hanging down in his throat area. At first I was afraid it could be bottle jaw, but I know nothing about it and he is all full of pep, and gains weight very easily, and I have been carefully worming and checking eyelids for signs of anemia. Although, he is a people lover he is so suprisingly bold and aggresive with the others, even though he is the smallest and youngest of the 3. He was not banded until he was about 8 weeks of age and the banding process took almost 4 weeks until it was complete. Could he have gotten a head start on maturing from the late banding? What is the proper name for bottle jaw? Could he have some other underlying problem or is he just a sturdy little wether?
