Hi, I hope its not to late for you.
Have you taken the kids temp? 101.5-105 is normal.
Most pneumonia will cause fever, but not every infection will.
If you are like me there is no goat vet in your area & most willing to show up want an arm & leg to treat very little, as they no nothing about goat.
You can use goldenseal powder or liquid concentrate to treat any virus or bacteria in animals. Find it at a health food store (wild oats, trader joe's, etc., on line to at now foods)
I have saved more animals lives with this stuff then I can count anymore, even strays I have known little to nothing about.
It will work,on almost(99% or better) every infection of the body.
However you must use alot & often as you can. It also tastes terrible so mix it in molasses or With brown sugar supersaturate. (same as molasses)
And once everyone feels better it may get harder to feed it to them, use a monodose without the needle I prefer one that I can use in one hand.
P.S. Goldenseal also helps to boost a weak system.

Good Luck from an Organic mother of 4 + all my animals. You can do it without Chemicals

If the barn has an ammonia smell the fumes may be damaging the lungs. If milk gets intot he lungs the kid will develop aspiration pneumonia and they do not often recover from this. If the kid is getting chilled that may be the cause of it becoming weaker. Many newborns die of enterotoxemia which can look alot like pneumonia. Is she pooping and peeing? Are the feces black or yellow? Formed feces or runny?

Take the kids temperature. WHat kind of formula are you feeding? Was the doe vaccinated for CDT and boostered 4 to 6 weeks before kidding?

Are you keeping the newborns in dry shelter? Could they be getting chilled at night? Also barns with alot of manure dust stirred up by the animals can cause respiratory ailments as it is inhaled. If she has pneumonia, Nuflor injections is about the best antibiotic to use. Must get it thru the vet. It would be very helpful to get a reading on her temp to check for fever and keep monitoring it.
What exactly is your formula for bottle feeding? If she is not taking in much liquid, she will dehydrate. There are various things that can be given to get the energy up. She might need some thiamin treatments. One of the forum medics will respond soon and give you some specific instructions to help.

We have a newborn (today is day 2) that i am trying to bottle-feed. She did get mom's colostrum for about 18 hour, but no more. I think she has pneumonia. she is weak and sounds VERY rattly when she breathes. She was/is sucking from a bottle, not tube-fed. What have i done wrong? This is the third time this has happened to us. Please help me not kill another one!
