He may need worming and/or delicing. Have her check his lower inner eyelids, they should be a bright rosy to salmon pink. If they are pale pink or white he is anemic from worms, and this will cause him to be off feed and abdominal discomfort. I recommend using Ivemectin injectable for cattle give it orally at 1 cc per 25 pounds. You must be sure to give enough, the current recommendation by most vet schools is 3 times the cattle or horse dose by weight. Ivermectin is very safe even at huge overdoses. You can use a cattle lice pouron, CoRal Livestock powder, or 5% sevin dust for the lice. Be sure to treat for at least 3 weeks for lice. He may also have an irritated or infected penile sheath.
