Wow!! Thank goodness you are all right! I thought that colorado as a place with a little snow but alot on the hills! Well i guess when you say Canada most would think a cold place. NO!!! it's been 14 c lately but today it was 0.3 c!! And i diddn't have school the roads were no good! and went to feed the girls and it was ok and by the time i was done it was coming down. and the girls wanted out! Not like them. At all but when i was done feeding (30 mins) there was a good 3 inches! Hope it keeps up! I could use a few more days of christmas break! HOpe you goats are ok and the cattle farmers also!

Thanks for wondering...it hasn't been a fun time here. Thankfully we haven't lost any goats nor do I know of anyone around me that has. We did lose a few birds from the extreme cold weather. Ordway, CO where we are is just NE of La Junta and Lamar where the majority of the snow hit. I know alot of the cattle producers are having a real tough time because they can't get to their cattle. Most of the goat producers got their hay before it all hit. Luckily I have three ton bales of hay (that were completely covered) which would make for a good snowman base. One of our barns got completely filled up with a snow drift! It's been kind of sad watching the goats try to go into the pasture and sink into the snow...but they somehow make it through. I've lived alot of places where it has snowed but I've never seen as much snow as we got in these storms pile up so high! Welcome to the high plains of Colorado!

Best regards, GP

Has anyone recieved word from goat producers in the region to see how they are doing since the snow storms have dumped on them and they have 15 to 20 ft snow drifts in that region?
