The weight tape only works for dairy does, it is inaccurate for meat types, cross breeds and miniature goats.

Here is a formula for figuring weight.

Measure in inches the heartgirth (around the body just behind the front legs)

Measure in inches the length of body from the point of the shoulder on the side of the chest to the pinbones just at the base of the tail close to the anus.

Multiply:
heartgirth x heartgirth x length of body
divide by 300 to get the approximate weight in pounds.

HAS ANYBODY EVER USED A WEIGH TAPE TO WEIGH YOUR GOATS? IF YOU HAVE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.HOW ACCURATE DO YOU THINK THEY ARE.
