It is not approved in goats especially lactating and meat goats destined for slaughter. You can use it in cattle as an injectable drug so I would think it is safe enough as an otic ointment and should do the trick and clear up the infection assuming this goat is not being raised to go to slaughter. You can always check with your vet to see what they recommend.

I have an eight week old kid (Lamancha/Saanen) that has yellow/orange fluid coming out of one ear.It is getting crusty when it dries. I have some Otomax Ointment(Gentamicin Sulfate,Betamethasone Valerate & Clotrimazole). It says for dogs only. I thought that I had used this before, but I'm not sure because it has been awhile and that was for a yeast infection. I checked the drugs site and it said don't use Gentamicin but I wasn't sure if that meant for ears or not. Anyway the question is what should I use to clear it up?
