Thanks for all the advice! I also spoke with a 30 yr. goat farmer and she told me i was probably feeding to much (10 oz. 5 times a day). We have cut her back and given her the medicine the vet gave me and she is doing well!

Pepto does work well for helping with diarrhea, but it only treats the symptom, not the actual cause. Do not EVER give Immodium, this causes the gut to stop moving which can lead to very serious digestive disease.

Some milk replacers cause scouring especially if they have soy protein in them (most multi-species milk replacers have soy protein, read the ingredient list very carefully...). You might also try giving less at each feeding but feeding more often. I feed at least 4 times a day. You might try switching to the recipe found on the Goatworld Articles page under the heading "Kids and Kidding". I have had very good results with this recipe when I didn't have real fresh goats milk. Canned goats milk isn't all that great either, it is cooked to death and tastes and smells terrible.

Be sure to hold the bottle in a natural position, with the nipple pointing down and lower to the ground. This puts the kid into the correct position to have the milk go into the correct "stomach". If the milk goes into the rumen it can cause diarrhea.

She is eating very good. It is yellow and very runny. We have called our local country vet (who has raised goats for years) and he is going to give us a medicine to give her. I hope it works. She is my son's baby!

We have a little girl who is being bottle fed. She has been fine until today, she is now scouring. This is our first attempt at goats so any help will be appreicated.
