Twas the night before Nationals and all through the barn, not a creature was stirring, no doe making a sound.
The tack trunk was packed, full to the brim, packed was the camera awaiting a GCH win.

The kids were all nestled in clean, bedded stalls,
while me, a nervous wreck, awaited a fall!

As I sat down to sleep there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the windows I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters, threw open the sash.

I had a bad dream, who would have known,
A vision of me forgetting my prize milking doe!
When what to my wondering eyes would appear???
My alarm clock was FLASHING!! The PANIC, the FEAR!!

The little driver was so lively, so quick!
Had to get chores done, or risk getting sick.
More rapid then eagles her courses they came,
She whistled and shouted items to be packed by name:

My milkstand, my pail, towels and broom,
Where's the show collar, the fans, my signs and no room!!
Fit it all in the van, tie the does to the roof!!
If I wasn't prepaired, then here was the proof.

And then with a nod, she went off to work,
get the animals off, and with out any quirks.
She sprang to her van, and gave a stout whistle
and off they went, like an overloaded missile!

They heard her exclaim as they drove outta sight

"A happy National Show to All, and to All a Good Night!"
